Fall Frenzy Fest

Yesterday I got tickets for Karie and I to go to Mix 96.9’s Fall Frenzy Fest at Tempe Park Friday, Sept. 18, 2009. Friday’s showcase is Jason Mraz, Rob Thomas, The B-52's, Gavin Rossdale and Colbie Caillat Tickets were $55.00 each, which is sorta high since it’s a festival and there are no assigned seats but really it’s peanuts considering we’re seeing 5 people. Five people live JASON MRAZ and ROB THOMAS.

I’m soooooo very excited! I’d been hearing commercials on the radio all week about it but I could never get all the info since I was at work and my ears never picked up on it until they mentioned Jason Mraz. I checked the radio’s site and the information there was useless. Luckily, since I’m subscribed to Jason Mraz’s newsletter I got an e-mail for the “exclusive” pre-sale so I didn’t have to wait with the general public for them to go on sale Saturday. Makes it so much easier to buy pre-sale instead of making sure I’m in front of a computer on a weekend when I don’t own a home computer.

When I called Karie to see if she was interested I started with, “Well I know you’re going to say no…” but she was already telling me, “I knew you were going to call, I already talked to Jeremy and I’m in.” Wow…that was easy. I didn’t even have to tell her what I was calling about. Or have to sweet talk her into it. Or think of a scheme to get Jeremy to okay Karie being gone all day and night on a Friday. Karie, being the bestest friend EVER, already had it figured out in anticipation for something I hadn’t even fully thought about yet. I had only tried to look into the details of the concert the afternoon before and hadn’t mentioned to anyone anything about it. She knows me far too well!!

It’ll probably be a hot miserable day but it’s going to so totally be worth it!! Not only do we get to see JASON MRAZ again but we get to see another one of my musical idols, ROB FREAKING THOMAS. Then we get the added bennifit of musical icons like The B52’s…and on a lesser scale of musical icons but just as cool if you were into the 90’s “grunge” scene you have Gavin Rossdale. Colbie Caillat is just adorable and doesn’t suck so that’s FIVE freaking AWESOME musical acts for the price of one.

Jessica wanted to go but will have school on Friday’s so she can’t. Hopefully, we’ll get some other people to join us between now and then but if not Karie and I will have a grand ol’ time by ourselves…along with the other thousands of people going who we will not know. There are two more days of mass bands playing but I really could care less who they are. I didn’t see any MUST SEE’s listed.
