Anyone who knows me knows I'm sort of a Christmas Scrooge, at least when it comes to the decorations & music. Oh, the horror of Christmas music...especially, when it's forced on you while you're stuck in mass lines with people who have anything but holiday cheer.
I gave up on Christmas decorations after moving into my first apartment & having to re-put up my 12 inch Christmas tree numerous times a day due to my far too curious cats. They found that the fake tree was a tasty treat & had nice new shiny toys for them to play with & break.
I'm down with the gift giving and the forced family time (which really isn't all that forced when you actually love your family) but the month long Christmas music makes me want to go out and throw rocks instead of snowballs. Not that there is any snow here in HotasHELL, AZ but you get my drift. My adversion of Christmas music may trace back to an old co-worker who idolized Beth & Bill (KEZ99.9) & had them on 24\7 which meant that every Monday-Friday 8 AM-5 PM there was nonstop Christmas music from the day after Thanksgivng until New Years. After 8 or so years that is far too much Christmas music for this girl to take.
There are a few Christmas songs I like, you know the old non-traditional classic's like "Santa Baby" & "I Want A Hippopotamus For Christmas". I could probably get behind Christmas music more if there were more songs like this...
"All I Want for Christmas Is Us" - Tristan Prettyman ft./ Jason Mraz
