What I Wore Wednesday: Week 23

Joining at The Pleated Poppy

Just so you get in the right frame of mind make sure to sing "Oops, I Did It Again" (yes, by Brittany Spears) while reading this.

It's time to stop pretending and just admit that I have totally fallen off the no spending wagon and it's been a long hard road to get back onto it. I'm almost there.  Almost.
I've admitted it before and I'll do so again... I'm an emotional shopper and retail therapy totally helps.

Last week I found some amazing things to pair with my black leggings.  Sadly, I did manage to shrink one of the shirts I bought to go with them so now it's too short to wear with it but it's still a cute shirt.  I am determined to make sure this super cute dress does not end up with the same fate.  As it stands now if it doesn't shrink I can wear it as just a dress in the Summer time when temps are at 115 degrees and I am sweating to death in my car with no A/C.

Dress: Lots of Love by Speechless, Macy's, $8.46
Leggings: gift
 In Pink, Giveaway win
Belt: Target, $5.20
Shoes: Tribeca wedges, Ross

Cardigan: Forever 21
Dress: Lots of Love by Speechless, Macy's, $8.46
Leggings: gift
Necklace:
Short: short: tiny riveted initials via noisycricket giveaway win
 In Pink, Giveaway win
Belt: Target, $5.20
Shoes: Tribeca wedges, Ross

The dress has a totally cute black mesh & secquines v cut in the back but I didn't get photo's of it & can't find it online.  Maybe next time.  Also,
sorry for the blurry outfit photo's.  It just goes to show that my true talent does really lie in jewelry/accessory photography and not clothing photography.

Necklace:
Short: short: tiny riveted initials via noisycricket giveaway win
 In Pink, Giveaway win

I just love the detail in it.  It's sort of heavy though.

Earrings:
 In Pink, Giveaway win
They're also heavy.

Ring:  In Pink, Giveaway win (can't find link online)

I am standing straight in this photo.  That is how tall these wedges are.
They're super high but surprisingly sturdy & comfortable.

I bought these shoes from Ross about a year ago.  It was love at first sight, which is weird because I was never really into the whole Gladiator sandal thing.  I had half a mind to take them back but I never did because I secretly just plain didn't want to.  I really loved them. I've never worn them before Friday though I tried to wear them once before but after the broken lamp incident I put them away again, a little to afraid of them.
This is why my 2012 goal to wear every pair of shoes I own was such a great idea.
I will definitely be wearing these pretty babies again soon.

Confession time again... when I'm indecisive about what shoes to wear my closet ends up looking like this in the morning...

What I Wore Wednesday: Week 22

Joining at The Pleated Poppy

So I have a little confession.

I sorta had a little fall off the no shopping wagon.  Christmas, my birthday, and winning a few gift cards were the gateway drug, so to speak.  So that by the time I did my taxes and got my returns back I was completely jonesing to do some shopping.  You can hardly blame me, right?
Right.

I would like to point out that I did set aside some "blow" money.  No, not that kind of blow...
Blow, as in "I get to blow it" on whatever.
I, also, set aside some to put in savings, to pay towards credit cards, and then I set some aside for eye glasses & new bras.
How very responsible of me, right?
Right.

Part of my blow money went towards this outfit...
Cardigan: Mossimo Borelo Cardigan, Target
Belt: Target
Tights: Target $3 (old)
Shoes: American Eagle, Payless

Belt: Target
Tights: Target $3 (old)
Shoes: American Eagle, Payless

Ring: Old Navy, $2.99 (old)

Earrings: Old Navy, $2.99 (old)

Belt: Target

Shoes: American Eagle, Payless

Shoes: American Eagle, Payless

I honestly just could not walk away from this dress.  So. Adorable!
I actually ended up at Target 3 times before I actually bought it.  So I really tried walking away or waiting for a smoking sale.
I figure I'll snag whatever other color I can when it goes on clearance.
I have a mustard sweater & belt I can't wait to wear with this.  It was the original outfit I had in mind but they didn't have the sizes I needed.

Tonight after work I am going to the mall to work on getting the new bra(s).  I'm not holding my breath that they'll have what I need but Nordstorm's website says they have a few in my size so I'm going to go check it out.
If not, I'll be putting an order in on HerRoom.com.  They definitely have what I need but I'm hesitant to go that route since I'm not entirely sure the size I am is the correct size I need in the style I want.

Why everything has to fit differently is beyond me.  A size whatever should be a size whatever no matter what.  At least that is my opinion.  I hate that no matter what you wear (shoes, pants, dresses, bras) just about every brand you try fits differently so you have a handful of sizes you wear.  Then on top of that, you have different sizes for each different cut out there.  Even in the same brands.  It's annoying!  Can I just add, that it makes shopping online almost impossible.  At least, impossible if you don't want the hassle of having to ship back returns/exchanges.
End rant.
Sorry.

What I Wore Wednesday: Week 21

Joining at The Pleated Poppy

Both of the outfits I'm posting are old.  One is from 1/13 and the other is from 1/25.  I had the intention of posting them to a WIWW post on the weeks I wore them but something happened, something I'm not quite ready to actually talk about beyond what I've said in the posts where I've shared music.  I'm not sure I'll ever  actually talk about what happened here, if I'll ever have the words to be able to talk about it here..  Not that this post is about that, because it's not.  This post is about fun stuff like clothes.

I seriously love the burnt orange/red pants  I got as a birthday present but I'm having a hard time figuring out what to wear with them besides black & this one Old Navy tank I have that has hearts in it the same color as the pants.  When I care more about what I'm wearing I'll work on remixing them but until then they're sitting in my closet unworn.  Total bummer, I know.

Sweater: Forever 21
Black tank: Mossimo, Target
Pants: Mossimo, Target, bought with a gift card received for my b-day
Shoes: Xhiliration, Target, $4.98 or $6.99 (can't remember which since I bought 2 pairs at the same time, both of them brown because they were such a great deal.  Plus, it was last summer.)

Short necklace: Vintage, it was my Mom's.  We share(d) the same birthstone, garnet.  It was one of the treasures I got when my sisters & I went through our mom & grandma's stuff in storage back in Oct last year.
Long necklace: Leaf necklace I've worn a zillion times but can't find a picture of right now (the one I took was blurry).  Target, $4.98

Belt: came with the pants, Target

Shoes: Xhiliration, Target

The only reason I even documented this outfit was because it was the first time I'd ever worn these shoes and I seriously loved my outfit.  It served as a mood lifter that day.  Plus, I had to get all the red/white color combo out before February struck and Valentine's Day ruined the combo for a while.

Boyfriend cardigan: Mossimo, Target, $under 5 steal
Red tank: Old Navy, $3.99
Jeans: American Eagle, Plato's Closet, $10 (I think)
Shoes: Soda, Ross, $14.99 (at least that's what the tag that they had on them still said).

Rose ring: Charming Charlies
Thumb: Old
Bracelets: Old Navy, there are 2 sets, $.99 each

Pointer ring: Old Navy, $.99
Ring: Target, $9.99

Necklace: Natural rose pendant necklace 'Sweet Scarlet'http://www.novica.com/itemdetail/index.cfm?pid=182797, Novica, giveaway win

Shoes: Soda, Ross, $14.99
I've had these for like 3 or 4 years & this is the first time I've worn them.

What I Wore Wednesday: Week 20

Joining at The Pleated Poppy

So this week I tackled the dreaded leggings again.  This time I didn't obsess over my seams paranoia.  Nope, instead I was plagued with guilt about how it felt like I was in my PJ's all day and I was enjoying it way too much.  I swear leggings are so comfortable that I'd wear them ALL. THE. TIME. if I could.  I wish I had more shirts that were long enough so I could actually wear them more.  But then I'd be feeling guilty a lot more so maybe it's a good thing.

Does anyone else suffer from guilt when they wear leggings?  Is it something I'll eventually get over?  I'm so comfortable that I feel like I need to change before I leave the house.

This time I didn't feel like a bag lady.  This shirt is actually the shirt I wanted leggings for and was super excited to wear with them.  I've had it forever and only worn it a few times because it's so long but doesn't quite hang right when worn with jeans.  At least, in my opinion, not on me anyway.  I like it a lot more with leggings!

Seriously love the details on this necklace.

Earrings:

Bracelet:
Made by me years ago. It's 2 different garnet beads.
It had a heart dangling off it.  Notice the HAD.  When I got to work the heart was gone.  Seems the end loop that kept it attached to the rest of the dangling part broke off.
I'm massively bummed.
I've had to fix the dangle part a zillion times but only to reloop the end that held the heart on.  Guess it finally had enough and broke right off.
Now there is no dangle at all.
Sad face.

Funny story about wearing this bracelet...
I was out for a night of dancing with my girls (possibly for one of my birthday's) and I had this bracelet on one wrist and another bracelet with a dangling part (I think it was a pearl necklace I looped around to make into a bracelet) on my other wrist.

One right dangling bracelet + one left dangling bracelet + waving your hands over your head = handcuffs!

I got them caught together and couldn't get them undone by myself because my hands were handcuffed together.  I had to go run to my friends to have them unhook me.
Lesson learned.

Rings:
Pointer: Charlotte Russe, $2.99
Ring: Target, $10

What I Wore Wednesday: Week 19

Joining at The Pleated Poppy

Since it was a holiday weekend I didn't take a lot of outfit photo's...not like I ever do but whatever.

I got a little bored Sunday afternoon so I decided to go to Target and spend the gift card I got for Christmas.
I ended up buying the cutest little military looking sweater for $11.  I was, also, very responsible and picked up a mattress cover since the one I have was trashed (the side lining rips so easily!) and I wanted to make sure I had something (extra) to protect the mattress foam topper (HEAVEN!) I have from cat barf.  I swear it never fails, if I put clean sheets & a fresh blanket on the bed one (if not more) of the cats goes and up chucks all over it.  It's rather annoying! I, also, grabbed Season 1 of Due South for $5.  Anyone remember that cop buddy TV show about the Mountie & Chicago   from the early/mid 90's?  Man, I loved that stupid little show!  Cute CANADIAN guy, goofy humor, beautiful Husky dog.  Yeah, it seem that my love for all things Canadian goes back a lot longer than I thought.
