What I Wore Wednesday: Week 9

Joining at The Pleated Poppy

Today's post is literally what I wore today (Wednesday), which seems a bit weird for some reason.  Maybe because it's the only picture I took this week.  Having a 3 day weekend always seems to screw me up.  NOT that I'm complaining.  I will take all the 3 day weekends I can get!

The outfit...

Pink cami: Target
Purple tank: Old Navy
Denim skirt: Kohl's (last year clearance $10)
Bracelets: Target (old, clearance)
Shoes: Old Navy

Earring:
Gold: Target (clearance set of 4 $4.99)
Studs: Helzberg (Gift)

Necklace:

Rings:

Pointer: Michael's craft loop set (clearance)
Ring finger: Gift (from teenage years)

This time last year I was in love with denim skirts.  Maybe because they were as close to jean shorts as I was going to get.  I really don't know because this summer I haven't worn a denim skirt at all.  At least until today.  I've tried them on but then changed into something else.  They aren't the most comfortable things ever.  At least not the way I sit in them.  All unlady-like and all.  Don't worry...I contain myself to lady-like sitting in public but it's a free for all at home and when I am sitting at my desk at work.

Want me to let you in on something...I still feel like I need to wear shorts under my dresses and skirts, just like I had to when I was a little girl.  I was far too busy climbing things and sitting on the ground to worry about who saw London, who saw France.  Yeah, everybody saw my underpants when I was young.  At least, on the days my grandma didn't notice when I was not wearing shorts under it all.  I may not climb things as much now-a-days but I still choose to sit in unconventional places like the floor (even though there is a perfectly comfortable chair RIGHT next to me).  I, also, tend to forget what I am doing when I'm wearing a fun flowy skirt and I do that little girl skirt twirl flip thing.  I don't know what the technical name for it is but involves playing with your skirt & if not careful flashing everyone within eye shot.   Luckily, I usually catch myself now before any actual flashing is done but it's sometimes a very close call.

Is it just something I never quite grew out of or are there other adult ladies out there who still do these "little girl" type things?
