Well Traveled: Novica Spotlight

So I got my necklace from Novica Friday and I. LOVE. IT!!  It is so beautiful!

Natural rose pendant necklace, 'Sweet Scarlet'

This beautiful necklace is one world traveler.  It was shipped to me from Chiangmai, TH (Thailand).  Here's all the stops it's made...
1. Chiangmai, TH (Thailand)
2. Samutprakarn, TH (Thailand)
3. Bayan Lepas, MY (Malaysia)
4. Narita-Shi, JP (Japan)
5. Anchorage, AK
6. Indianapolis, IN
7. Phoenix, AZ
8. Tempe, AZ
9. Mesa, AZ
10. Back to Tempe, AZ (TWICE since I am never home when FedEX makes deliveries.)

All I have to say is at least it's not heavy because can you imagine the shipping if it was??  When I picked out my prize (from the giveaway I won to Novica) I had no idea it was actually FROM Thailand (I'm not always a details reader, sue me).   Well done, National Geographic & Novica!

Can you believe this necklace is made out of a real mini rose??  Crazy, right?!

"Immortalized in jewelry, a miniature rose centers this necklace from Danai. The perfect red blossom pendant graces a slender chain bathed in 24k gold."

The artist Danai makes most of his jewelry from real flowers & then casts them in different material (lacquer, resin, gold, silver, etc).  It's all way over my head but the results are beautiful!

Gold plated natural orchid earrings, 'Timeless Dancer'

Natural leaf silver plated choker, 'Fern Love'

In the Moonlight

I recieved one of my packages from Amazon last week.  It contained the CD In the Moonlight by Dawn MitschelleI. LOVE. IT!!  I thought I loved her Town of Trees EP, and I DO, but In the Moonlight has more to love.  Like 6 more songs worth.  Not all the songs on the Town of Trees EP made in onto the In the Moonlight album but I guess that's what EP's are for.

I cannot tell how how much I LOVE Dawn Mitschelle's voice.  If I could pick a voice to have, I would have hers. I. JUST. LOVE. IT!

I, also, love her songs.  The emotions behind them.  The bareness of some of them.  Seriously, CHECK HER OUT!

Here are some of my favorite songs from  In the Moonlight that I can find video's for...

Anchor -

"Love me, love me
Say that you will
It sounds so simple
But it fools me, it fools me
Oh so well, that I can barely tell.

What is a cup if its turned upside down?
I know I'll miss having you around.
What is an anchor, if its not tied to a chain?
I know that its not worth the pain.

It'll heal you, heal you
To let me go
So you can grow
Until fire, oh fire
It burns again, I know you'll get another chance.

What is a cup if its turned upside down?
I know I'll miss having you around.
What is an anchor, if its not tied to a chain?
I know that its not worth the pain.

And oh we are, so hungry for
A sure thing
And oh we are, so tired of
All this guessing.
But there's no need to feed,
This desire to sleep anymore.

And you touch me, without using your hands
But I can feel you everywhere
And you know me, you know me
Without a word
And I am finally heard,
Yes, I am finally heard."

"I see you in things like
Old weathered fences
And I know you'd like to take
a photograph
I hear you in things like
Passing conversation
And I know exactly
when you'd react.

You are,
yes you're taking up all of my time
even though I never see your face.
You are,
You're only in my mind and in all
Of those pretty things
That I will find here along my way.
They're captured so sweetly
In those signs that greet me
How they lead me towards your memory.

I feel you in things like
Late nights in summertime
You'd count the stars
Lying on your back
And I hear you in things like
My father's stories and I
Know exactly
When you'd laugh.

You are,
yes you're taking up all of my time
even though I never see your face.
You are,
You're only in my mind and in all
Of those pretty things
That I will find here along my way.
They're captured so sweetly
In those signs that greet me
How they lead me towards your memory.

Oooh, and your mouth
I can see high up in the clouds
And your hands,
Your hands are in the stems of my garden.
But am I foolish, am I foolish
To think that this could keep me close to you?

You are,
yes you're taking up all of my time
even though I never see your face.
You are,
You're only in my mind and in all
Of those pretty things
That I will find here along my way.
They're captured so sweetly
In those signs that greet me
How they lead me towards your memory"

Just for fun here are some songs Dawn's done with other people...

Mail Call

I joining another link party, it's over at Funky Polkadot Giraffe, and it's called...

So what exciting things did I receive in my mailbox yesterday?

I received my prizes from the giveaway I won here...

The photo's don't do the flower hair bows from Pretty Little Lion Designs justice.  They are so pretty!  I can't wait to wear one.  Jillian is such a sweetheart and you should check her blog out Pretty Little Lion the blog.

My nephew, Dameon, is graduating this month & I received his announcement/invite...

How he got so big is beyond me!!  I still remember him being a super cute 7 year old.  Now he's about a foot taller than I am and far too cool to run around with squirt guns & to play in creeks on Easter outings.
