My "Shoe Shopping" List

No, I'm not talking about compiling a list of shoes I want to buy...though that sounds like a marvelously fun idea.  I'm talking about the mental list I have running in my head of people I would go shoe shopping with.  Hum...throwing mental in the above sentence sort of makes me feel like what I just said sounds creepy.  It's not, I swear.  At least I don't think it's creepy...I guess you all can be the judge & jury on that.

Anyway, I'm not sure exactly when or how the "list" started.  The first person I remember "adding" to the list was Jennifer Gardner.  She's beautiful, successful, seems so sweet, down to earth & fun.  You know, someone you'd totally go shoe shopping with if given the chance.  Not every celebrity can be imagined as a shoe shopping partner.  At least, not in my opinion.  A lot of celebs are too beautiful and something about them seems too intimidating to be able to shoe shop with them. 

Anyway, (the BFF)  Karie & I were were at a Jewel concert and Ashly Monroe opened up for her.  She was so incredibly cute and slightly awkward being up on stage opening up for Jewel.  She was so REAL and relatable...even though she was OPENING UP FOR JEWEL.   I looked over at Karie & said, "OMG, she's so stinking cute I wanna steal her, put her in my pocket and take her shoe shopping!"  Karie's response was, "Totally!"  Okay, I'm paraphrasing but it was pretty close to that.  I could look it up since I tweeted about it but it was back on 3-15-09.  That is FAR too many Tweets in the past to try to find.

Lately the phrase has come up, twice in fact, and I figured why not share my list with you guys.  Maybe get you to share who's on your "list". 

The first time the phrase came up was when I commented to Jillian over at The Life of a Lioness/Pretty Little Lion that if she was ever in the AZ area I would totally go shoe shopping with her. 

I've "known" Jose over at Lucy's House & Josie Is Creating for a while now.  Again, I could look it up but that is far too many pages of going back in both FB & Twitter (or even on her blog).  All I know is it was right around the time she moved to Austin, TX.  My BFF "introduced us", mostly by talking about one of us to the other.  One thing led to another and my version of "our story" is she stalked me for a while & fell in love so she started following me on Twitter.  I in turn stalked her back, fell in love and started stalking her on her blog and fell in love more.  One thing led to another and we finally became FB friends.  Several times we've commented on how we needed to go shoe shopping together because we have the same fabulous taste in shoes.  I'm hoping by the end of this month that we will have finally met in person.  Josie has moved back to AZ and things are starting to settle down for her.  She emailed me last week & stated it was time to finally meet & asked if we could do it after her trip out of town.  Um....of course!  DUH!  We have no details yet but I am so excited.  It sorta feels like the first day of school.  Excitement & nerves.  I can't imagine how awkwardly awesome I'll be when it actually happens.  After this long following me on-line she should have some idea of how awkward I get & be fairly warned.

Man, do I go off on some long rambles sometimes.  Okay, most of the time but I usually can hid it when posting.  Not so much when I'm actually talking.  Meh, it adds to my charm, right?! Please say yes it's been 33 years I don't think I can change it now.
