Last night while running into Target to grab much needed cat food & a new laundry basket I had a very odd encounter with the cashier whose line I got into.
We did the normal pleasantries...
"Hi, how are you?"
"Fine, thanks. How are you?" and I sort of thought that was that.
Nope, while scanning my items the dude just randomly says,
"Girls are bad people!"
Um...okay. "Not all of them, and boys can be bad people too."
"Yeah," he said, "I just broke up with my girlfriend."
"That sucks. I just broke up with my boyfriend."
"Why?"
Oh, okay, we're really getting into this...*Sigh*
"Hum...we just weren't the right fit."
"Did you think he had a motor mouth?"
"Um...no..." ??
"Girls suck!"
*Uncomfortable laugh*
"You are too young to have girl problems."
"Yeah, maybe I should have been going out... running around...."
He looked no more than 17 years old and the way he said it made it seem to me that his girlfriend cheated on him or something. Poor guy.
Luckily, my transaction was done and there were now people behind me because I think he would have continued the odd conversation if he had been able to. I felt bad for the kid but I don't think the topic was one he should have been having with a complete stranger.
Then today I had a strange encounter at work. I was working...minding my own business... and my co-worker came in (she was out running an errand) and asks
"Do you have a computer chair in the back of my car?"
"Um...no."
"Are you sure?"
Hum, let me think about this one..."Um...No!"
"Huh, I swear that is your car out there...with a chair in the back."
So I go to the window and check. Sure enough there was a chair in the back of my car.
Seems there was an office in the building that was moving out this morning and they were using everyones car who worked there to load stuff up. Since my car was mixed in with theirs (I was parked in my spot before they got there) and was unlocked (it doesn't lock. Not unless I want it to stay locked FOREVER!) they just figured it was one of theirs.
I ran out there to let them know that that was not their car and the poor main guy was so embarrassed. It was funny but I felt bad for him. He apologized profusely. The young girls helping him thought it was HILARIOUS and kept giving him a hard time. I let him know I didn't care that they accidentally put it in my car but I didn't want to end up "stealing" their chair. LOL.
It gave us a good laugh at work this morning at least.
